According to Jinshi citing CCTV reports, U.S. President Trump stated in an interview broadcast on April 15 local time that he believes the war with Iran is "about to end," but also warned that the war could last until the midterm elections in November.
Trump again threatened to attack Iranian civilian infrastructure, but at the same time expressed that he "hopes it won't escalate to that point."
